Cooper Tire won the New Product award at the ongoing SEMA Show in Las Vegas for its new Discoverer AT34S tire. The tire is positioned as an all-weather, all-terrain tire that is meant for use in pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles. The tire emerged as a New Product Award winner in the tire and related product category at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show. The show is currently being held in Las Vegas, Nevada and will end on November 2.
The tire was one of the winners chosen from almost 3,000 entries in 16 categories. The award which is given every year honors outstanding achievements in the development of products which are launched in the automotive specialty equipment market. The Discoverer AT34S won the award on the basis of its attributes which included technical achievement, superior innovation, quality and workmanship, consumer appeal and marketability.
Commenting on the award, Scott Jamieson, Cooper’s Director of Product Management said that the Discoverer AT34S tire is known for providing consistently powerful performance whether it is for commuting on the highway or for going off-road on a weekend adventure. He said that Cooper Tire was honored to be recognized by SEMA with the New product Award.
The Discoverer AT34S belongs to the Discoverer AT3 range of tires which was launched this year and comes with Adaptive-Traction Technology that makes it possible for the tire to offer an excellent grip on the driving surface, irrespective of the whether rocky or smooth, in hot or cold weather conditions.
The tire is fashioned from an innovative silica-based tread compound and comes with Cooper’s Secure-Grip five-rib, all-terrain pattern. This gives the tire off-road driving capability and outstanding traction on both wet and dry surfaces. It has zigzag sipes which enhance vehicle stability while reducing stone retention, and the uniquely shaped deep center grooves minimize hydroplaning. The Discoverer AT34S has been rated for use in severe weather patented thanks to its sawtooth technology which is designed to trap snow in the tread to provide superior stopping distance on snowy surfaces. The Discoverer AT34S offers a best-in-class 65,000-mile warranty and is available in 37 sizes from 15- to 20-inch rim diameters.
The Discoverer AT3 range of tires also includes the Discoverer AT3LT and Discoverer AT3XLT.
