Denso has announced that effective from July 1 this year, it would be integrating two of its subsidiaries, Denso Preas and Denso Kiko. Both these companies deal with the manufacture of metal press-worked parts.
Press-worked components are acquiring greater importance in the wake of the advent of automated and electrified vehicle technologies. Denso now has the goal of beginning local production in overseas markets to facilitate closer collaboration with leading OEMs in markets where demand for such press-worked parts is expected to grow. To develop press-worked parts on a more competitive basis, Denso realized that though each of the two companies had outstanding manufacturing assets, they needed to be integrated to form one core press working company with closer ties to Denso.
The company that is formed by the integration of these two companies will collaborate closer with the respective sections of Denso to work on enhancing technologies for mass production and manufacturing capabilities. Thus, Denso would be able to move closer to its goal of achieving safe, comfortable and environmentally friendly mobility for its clients through the use of press-worked parts that support electrified systems and automated driving systems.
