Porsche has opted for a tire from Falken as the OE fitment for its new Macan. The Macan will be fitted with the SUV version Falken’s popular Azenis FK510 tire in two sizes: 235/60 R18 and 255/55 R18.
Thanks to its special carcass design, the Azenis FK510 SUV tire can provide the Macan with a precise and refined steering feel, high levels of comfort and an overall well-balanced driving experience.
The tire features Falken’s Adaptive Constant Pressure (ACP) tread technology which enhances braking performance, directional stability and driving dynamics. Falken’s engineering team used Sumitomo’s 4D Nano design technology to come up with a groundbreaking rubber compound that was used for the FK510 series tires. This compound not only provides good grip, but also offers competitive wear resistance.
The Porsche Macan is a model that is meant for drivers who prefer a sporty ride and will leverage the full ability of the tire.
Commenting on the new OE fitment, Christian Stolting, key account manager of original equipment at Falken Tyre Europe said that with the introduction of these tires, Falken has continued to apply its strategy of consistently offering an extensive range of tires in segments which are growing and profitable.
Stolting concluded, “Awarding us the factory fitment contract for the Porsche Macan doesn’t just confirm our strategy, but also speaks volumes for the quality of our tires. Supplying Porsche with our tires is a bit of an accolade for us.”
