BMW has expanded its Neue Klasse electric family with two new models. The iX4 is a coupé-style electric SUV with up to 828 km of WLTP range, and the iX3 M60 xDrive is a 612 PS performance version of the iX3. Both use BMW’s sixth-generation electric drive technology and 800-volt charging.
BMW revealed both cars on 8 October 2026. They share the Neue Klasse architecture, which was designed from the start for electric cars. The iX4 is the third Neue Klasse model in BMW’s line-up, with a sleek SUV coupé body. The iX3 M60 xDrive adds an M Performance flagship to the regular iX3.
Every iX4 has one electric motor on each axle. BMW has announced three versions:
The 50 xDrive charges at up to 400 kW, enough to add 387 km of range in ten minutes under ideal conditions. BMW says the new drive system also supports bidirectional charging.
The iX3 M60 xDrive produces 450 kW (612 PS) and reaches 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. Its 108.7 kWh battery gives up to 754 km (468 miles) of WLTP range, and charging at up to 400 kW can add up to 340 km in ten minutes. Because the iX4’s body is more aerodynamic, its M60 claims about 23 km more range than the iX3 M60. BMW lists the iX4 M60 figures as provisional.
The iX4 has a coupé roofline, a long wheelbase and short overhangs. A large panoramic sunroof is standard, and the cabin uses BMW’s Panoramic iDrive with a 17.9-inch central display and a 3D head-up display. The M Sport package, including 20-inch wheels, comes as standard. The iX4 M60 gets 21-inch wheels, M Sport seats, a 13-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos, and adaptive M suspension. Both cars are controlled by BMW’s “Heart of Joy” computer, which BMW says works ten times faster than previous systems.
BMW says two iX4 variants launch in March 2027, and the iX4 M60 xDrive can be ordered from January 2027.
BMW’s releases give no UAE pricing, timing or availability, so none of that is confirmed. The 800-volt charging and long range are the features most relevant to UAE drivers, especially for trips between emirates. BMW notes that its specifications refer to the German market and may differ elsewhere. Real-world range also depends on conditions, including air-conditioning use, so expect lower figures in summer heat.
