As the world continues to practice preventative measures during the pandemic, the use of a mask continues to be mandated across the region. Now that people have been wearing masks for over a year, a number of pain points have arisen, and consumers are looking for methods by which to improve their mask-wearing experience.
Reusability, comfort, and breathability are all factors consumers consider when purchasing a mask. LG Electronics (LG) offers a range of air purifiers that provide clean air and breathing optimization for consumers and the newly released PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier provides consumers a chance to empower healthy living while remaining mobile.
Through extensive R&D, LG has identified common challenges for mask-wearers, including regulating airflow without becoming too warm or claustrophobic and having glasses periodically fog up. Additionally, at the beginning of July 2020, estimates showed that up to 129 billion face masks were being produced every month, in order to meet unprecedented demand. Due to their disposable nature, millions of these masks have ended up in landfill sites around the world – an increasing area of concern for those wishing to invest in more sustainable solutions to reduce environmental impact.
Ergonomic Design for a Better Fit
The PuriCare Wearable has been meticulously designed, based on extensive facial shape analysis. The wearable fits and seals to the face to minimize air leakage around the nose and chin, comfortable for everyday wear. Made with medical-grade silicone, the design not only promotes hygiene but also makes it possible to wear the unit comfortably for hours on end.
Thorough Air Purification
Wearers of the device can breathe clean, fresh air with greater peace of mind, thanks to HEPA filters which work to remove up to 99% of harmful particles, such as viruses, bacteria, and common allergens from entering one’s system. The PuriCare Wearable’s Respiratory Sensor detects the cycle and volume of the wearer’s breath, while DUAL Fans adjust their speed accordingly to one of three settings. The dynamic fans can speed up when the wearer is inhaling, and slow down to reduce resistance upon exhaling.
Recharge and Reuse
The PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier has a built-in, high-capacity battery that lasts up to 8 hours and comes with an Easy Charge USB C type cable, which enables a full recharge in just 2 hours for repeated use. For added convenience, key components such as the filters, inner cover, face guard, ear straps, and strap extenders are also easy to remove and replace – extending usability.
LG will also soon release a special case for the PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier, which works as both a charging dock and sanitization device. The built-in ultraviolet light is capable of sanitizing the air purifier and removing moisture from internal components caused by the wearer’s breath, eliminating up to 99.99% of germs in just 30 minutes.
The case is also equipped with wireless technology that connects via Wi-Fi to the LG ThinQ mobile app in order to afford easier maintenance, such as checking operation status, filter usage, and alerts and notifications.
The LG PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier is now available in the UAE online through Amazon and Al Yousuf and at select Carrefour, Sharaf DG, Jacky’s, Emax, E-City, Lulu, and ACE stores for the retail price of 699 AED.
Two H13 HEPA Filters are provided in the box, with additional filters available for the retail price of 59 AED.
