Money makes the world go around, but the form it has taken through the ages has changed from time to time ranging from salt and bullion bars to digital money in the current age. In addition to the numerous cards we carry in our wallet for parking, identity, driver’s lice and our Emirates ID, we also carry credit cards and ATM cards.
With more people than ever traveling for business and pleasure, we may also need to carry money of different denominations. The Scrip Digital Wallet has an LED screen at the top that raises and lowers for different denominations as you pay out money in different currencies. It might even make you spend more wisely as you “feel” your digital money leaving your hands, or rather your pocket.
It is similar to the Nol card that we use in Dubai for public transport. Made from copper, it is smooth on the bottom and stippled on the top with a tiny LED screen that rises whenever you point the device at an NFC terminal and swipe your thumb to make the payment. The money is automatically deducted from a refillable online wallet and the remaining balance can be viewed with a long press. You can send money to your friends by tapping Scrips and you can even lock it up. This is one tool that will come in handy to keep rein on your spending.
