The UAE pickup market is about to get a very different kind of challenger. Chinese brand Jetour has opened pre-bookings for the F700, a plug-in hybrid pickup with close to 900 horsepower, and it is the brand’s first pickup in the UAE. The official UAE price has not been announced yet, but there is already plenty to know.
Quick Highlights
- Pre-bookings in the UAE opened on 28 October 2026
- 892hp and 1,135 Nm of torque from a plug-in hybrid system
- Claimed range of about 1,000 km in the UAE (1,300 km on China’s test cycle)
- Wading depth of 900 mm and locking front and rear differentials
- UAE price, variants and delivery dates are still to be confirmed
What Is the Jetour F700?
The F700 (called the Zongheng F700 in China) is a full-size plug-in hybrid pickup from Chery’s rugged Jetour brand. It is the pickup counterpart to the Jetour G700 SUV, with similar boxy, Land Cruiser-inspired styling and much of the same technology. In China it was launched on August 6, 2026, in three variants. Jetour has so far sold only SUVs in the UAE, such as the T1, T2 and G700, so the F700 marks a new step for the brand.
Power and Range
The F700 pairs a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with electric motors on the front and rear axles and a two-speed hybrid transmission. Together they produce 892hp (665 kW) and 1,135 Nm of torque. Using a CATL battery, Jetour claims 0 to 100 km/h in about 5 seconds. In China the pure-electric range is 150 km and the total range is 1,300 km on the CLTC test cycle. UAE reports quote around 1,000 km, so treat all range figures as manufacturer claims rather than real-world results.
Built for Off-Road and Work
- Size: 5,495 mm long, 2,050 mm wide, 1,985 mm tall, with a 3,350 mm wheelbase
- Chassis: ladder-frame construction with a four-wheel-drive system and front and rear locking differentials
- Water and angles: 900 mm wading depth, IP68 waterproof rating, 32-degree approach angle, 15-degree departure angle
- Towing: certified for 3.5 tonnes in China
- Cargo bay: 1,300 litres, with a 220V outlet that can supply up to 20 kW of external power
That external power outlet turns the pickup into a mobile power source for camping, desert trips or job sites.
Inside the Cabin
The interior is more luxury SUV than workhorse. It has a 35.4-inch wide display, a 15.6-inch floating centre screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8255 chip and physical buttons for key controls. Front seats have massage functions, and both rows are heated and ventilated. Driver aids include automatic parking and a 540-degree camera system.
What About the Price?
Jetour UAE has not announced pricing. For context only, the sister Jetour G700 SUV in the UAE ranges from AED 187,950 (US$51,178) to AED 240,450 (US$65,473). In China, the F700 launched at roughly AED 162,000 (US$44,100) to AED 183,000 (US$49,900). Neither figure is a UAE F700 price, because taxes, specifications and positioning will change it, so wait for the official announcement.
Who Is It For?
The F700 is aimed at buyers who want a pickup but are interested in something beyond the usual diesel options, and it competes with plug-in hybrid rivals such as the BYD Shark 6. It comes with big numbers, but there are open questions. Chinese-market specs may differ in the UAE, and long-term reliability and after-sales support are still unknown for a brand-new model. Ask about the warranty and service network, and check how the battery and cooling perform in summer heat.
Final Thoughts
With nearly 900hp, a luxury cabin and a built-in power outlet, the F700 could shake up the UAE pickup market. Everything depends on the final price. Would you choose a Chinese plug-in hybrid pickup over a Hilux? Tell us in the comments.
