One major recent news was Tesla’s official launch in Dubai with the company’s CEO, Elon Musk making the official launch announcement at the World Government Summit held here. Unlike other major automotive brands which partner with local companies here for distribution, Tesla will be taking orders through the company’s dedicated platform for UAE customers. This will certainly be a welcome change on the automotive scene in Dubai. On the global scene, the advent of Ford and Amazon into the parts business is certainly going to transform the distribution end of the auto business.
The revival of the Auto Parts Marketing Group is another welcome development in the Dubai automotive aftermarket. In the wake of the prevalence of fake and grey parts, a strong organization like this can make a significant impact. In view of Dubai’s strategic location and its role as a hub for the automotive trade in the MENA region, the government too is supporting this group and the establishment of Dubai Spare Parts City with several special incentives that are highly attractive to investors. In our interview with APMG’s Chairman, Ahmed Juma Ahli, he explained more about the objectives and the long term goals of the group.

True auto fans, though, know that every ride is different.
