Clarion Corporation of America is one of the frontrunners when it comes to consumer and commercial mobile electronics. The company recently added two features to its Smart Access platform that make parking easy. BestParking is a service that allows drivers to find and compare rates for short- and long-term parking, while Glympse is an innovative location sharing app.
Those who own new and current vehicles which have been fitted with either a factory-installed or aftermarket system having Clarion’s Smart Access cloud-based infotainment platform can now directly access BestParking and Glympse using their vehicle screens even without access to their smartphones.
Speaking about the new features, Ben Sann, the founder of Best Parking Founder said that BestParking was designed to help drivers find the best deals when it comes to parking their vehicles on a short-term or long-term basis in cities and in airports. Covering 107 cities and 115 airports spread across North America and already used by over a million motorists, Best Parking is already a success story. The addition of Best Parking to the Clarion Smart Access platform will eliminate the need to use the phone while driving, making the whole process easier and more convenientfor drivers to find and compare prices for parking spots close to their destination.
Through Glympse, GPS-enabled smartphone users can share their location using a Web-based map for a pre-set period of time with anyone they choose. Users can preset the time period, duration and the people they want to share their location with.
Allen H. Gharapetian, Clarion’s Vice President of Marketing and Product Planning said that it is Clarion’s top priority to make it possible for drivers to access their favorite apps while in the car. The addition of Glympse and BestParking will further enhance the Smart Access platform. As more and more customers use Smart Access equipped infotainment systems, it will become possible for them to get access to popular services in a convenient and safe manner from their car’s center console.
Smart Access is the world’s most advanced and extensive cloud-based in-vehicle information access, analysis and sharing platform and is exclusive to Clarion. Smart Access provides motorists real-time analysis of destination routes on the go, allows for customization of entertainment options, and can be customized to monitor status of the vehicle or the driver’s driving style. It allows drivers to use popular smartphone apps in an easy, distraction-free way even while they are on the go.
