Aston Martin has unveiled the Valhalla Spider, an open-top version of its mid-engined hybrid supercar with 1,079 PS, a 350 km/h top speed and a removable roof. Deliveries start in the third quarter of 2027.
The reveal
Aston Martin presented the Valhalla Spider on 28 October 2026 from Gaydon, following the launch of the Valhalla Coupe earlier this year. It is the brand’s first mid-engined open-cockpit production supercar and the fastest open-cockpit Aston Martin ever made. The Spider makes its global debut this weekend at the 2026 Concours at Wynn Las Vegas.

Power
The powertrain is the same plug-in hybrid as the coupe, delivering 1,079 PS (about 1,064 hp) and 1,100 Nm of torque.
- V8: a bespoke flat-plane-crank 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 making 828 PS, which Aston Martin says has the highest specific output of any of its combustion engines at 207 bhp per litre
- Electric motors: three motors adding 251 PS, with two on the front axle for torque vectoring and a third alongside the eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox to assist the V8 at the rear
There is no mechanical connection between the front and rear axles, and Aston Martin’s integrated vehicle dynamics control system manages drive to each wheel.
Two roofs, one top speed
- Fabric roof (standard): a black removable and stowable roof with full weather protection, limiting the car to 200 km/h with the roof on
- Carbon-fibre hard top (optional): allows the full electronically limited 350 km/h
- Roof off: Aston Martin says the Spider can also reach its top speed with the roof removed
A clip-in wind deflector manages airflow over the open cockpit while feeding cooling air to the engine, and it folds into 15-litre storage apertures in the sills when not in use. The air snorkel has been reshaped and sits 35 mm taller.
Aerodynamics and chassis
Revised active aerodynamics and stability-control settings adapt to roof-on and roof-off conditions, keeping downforce above 600 kg with the roof fitted. The Spider keeps the coupe’s carbon-fibre tub, engineered with Aston Martin Performance Technologies, the consulting arm of the Aston Martin Aramco Formula 1 Team. Aston Martin says the technical differences from the coupe are limited to these aerodynamic and stability settings.
Inside and design
A new carbon-fibre Touring Seat is standard and eases getting in and out, though the coupe’s original seat is a no-cost option for more dynamic support. The Spider keeps its dihedral doors, now with refined movement and frameless glass.
What the CEO said
Aston Martin CEO Adrian Hallmark said the Valhalla Spider builds on the coupe’s firsts and adds the extra enjoyment that only an open-cockpit supercar can offer, whether at high or low speed, in rain or shine, on road or track.
Price and the Gulf
Aston Martin hasn’t announced pricing or regional availability, including for the Middle East. UAE buyers who want a roof-off supercar will have to wait for deliveries in 2027 and for local allocations to be confirmed.
