Bartec USA LLC is preparing to showcase its innovations to the Tech 400Pro and Tech500Pro tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) tools at the SEMA show which will be held shortly in Las Vegas. After the most recent updates, it is now possible to adjust the recommended inflation pressure (RIP) for 23 additional vehicles and seven of these additions are new coverage.
Speaking about this development, Scot Holloway, CEO of Bartec USA said that most automotive providers and tire retailers agree that it is very important to have the ability to adjust a vehicle’s RIP when up-fitting or plus-sizing tires. This feature could be a gamechanger for TPMS and would serve as a huge gamechanger for aftermarket service providers.
He advised that it is best practice in the case of cars and light trucks to change the recommended inflation pressure (RIP) every time tire and wheel combinations are up-fitted or plus-sized so that the vehicle can maintain the same load capacityation pressure [RIP] should be changed in order to maintain the same load carry capacity for the vehicle. Normally, when the RIP changes, it is necessary to recalibrate the TPMS, as otherwise it will not have the correct trigger point for low tire pressure. Adjusting the RIP adds to the safety of motorists and their passengers.
Bartec will be demonstrating these innovations in its TPMS products and several new products at the 2016 edition of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show and the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) shows.
