Trelleborg has revealed plans to debut a new virtual reality (VR) app that will feature its agricultural tires at the forthcoming agricultural trade show, EIMA. The 2016 edition of EIMA will be held in Bologna, Italy from November 9 to 13. Visitors to the show can try out the new app for use on iOS and Android smartphones while using innovative virtual reality headsets.
The new app is named “V-Reality” and will featuring 360-degree videos that were developed in collaboration with Trelleborg’s tractor manufacturer partners Massey Ferguson and CLAAS. Farming professionals can use the app to get a unique visual experience that will allow them to see Trelleborg’s best-in-class agricultural tire solutions in action in a manner they have never experienced before. New videos that will be developed in collaboration with other manufacturer partners and will highlight Trelleborg’s wide range of products will be added to the app on a frequent basis for users to experience.
Speaking about the app, Roberto Angelucci, Digital Marketing Manager at Trelleborg Wheel Systems, said that the company is committed to providing farming professionals with the latest tools, solutions and services so that they can conduct farming operations in a more efficient and productive manner. This innovative approach extends to the manner in which the company communicates also, as VR will give Trelleborg unlimited potential to reach out to farmers across the world.
He felt that the new V-Reality app will provide Trelleborg with an exciting platform to showcase the potential of its agricultural tire solutions, in an immersive and dynamic manner as such devices become more accessible in the short term. Some of the videos on the VR app include engaging content like videos of tests from Trelleborg’s European Roadshow and videos showcasing Trelleborg’s offering of high performance solutions for new generations of tractors like Trelleborg’s TM1060 tire. The app features a variety of thoroughly engaging and boundary-pushing content.”
Users can watch the smartphone VR content via Google Cardboard or other compatible headsets in 3D or in 2D with just their handheld device. The app will be available to download on both Google Play and the App Store.
