Retreading will be in the spotlight at the forthcoming Tire Cologne show with the addition of the Global Retreading Conference. Based on information from the organizers of the Global Retreading Conference, the European retreading association BIPAVER, the conference will involve the most knowledgeable expert, leading technologies, trends and developments as well as analysis of the best cases from all major markets. Participants at the conference will benefit from a global perspective of the retreading segment as it would feature leading specialists and partner associations belonging to different parts of the world like China, India, Europe, South and North America and the South East Asian region. The one day conference will be jointly organized by Koelnmesse and BIPAVER and will be held on May 29 from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm at the Cologne Congress Centre North on the opening day of Tire Cologne.
The conference will feature talks like “Metal 3D Printing Technology (SLM) for tire mould series production” by Ralf Frohwerk, Global Head Business Development at SLM Solutions GmbH, Lübeck, Germany; “The state of the art of modern tire inspection” by Stefan Dengler, managing director, SDS Systemtechnik GmbH, Calw, Germany; “Automation in the retreading operation” by Coen Heukshorst, sales manager, Retreading and Extrusion Solutions, VMI Holland BV, Epe. Entry to the conference is free but as places are limited, those who wish to attend need to register their interest in attending the event in advance.
The organizers are billing the Global Retreading Conference as “a one-time opportunity to take a global look at the decisive trends and developments of the industry”. It would also serve as a great forum for networking as all the key players in the retreading industry would be gathering at one place.
Another key feature of Tire Cologne show would be a “Recycling Forum” that Koelnmesse will organize in association with the trade magazines “Tyre & Rubber Recycling” and “retreading Business”. Presentations would be held daily on this topic throughout first three days of the Tire Colgne show, from May 29 to May 31. These presentations will be held in a dedicated Retreading and Recycling zone in Hall 9, and will highlight the tire industry’s impact on the environment.
The 2018 edition of Tire Cologne is its inaugural show. It is being organized by Koelnmesse and the industry sponsor, the Bundesverband Reifenhandel & Vulkaniseur-Handwerk e.V.(German Tire Retailers and Vulcanisation Trade Association) and will be held every two years. It will serve as the replacement for the renowned Reifen show which used to be held in Essen, Germany.
