Kumho has expanded its range of OE fitments by adding the new BMW 5 Series to its range of OEM fitments. BMW has opted for Kumho’s Ecsta PS91 super sports tire in size 245/45R18 XL 100Y. The Korean tire manufacturer is now delivering the tires for factory fitment to the BMW factory in Dingolfing, Bavaria.
Kumho’s association with BMW goes back many years as Kumho has supplied tires for the German brand’s 1, 2 and 3 Series ranges. Kumho’s latest additions to its growing list of OE fitments include those for the BMW X3 and the Mini Countryman.
Another German auto manufacturer with a preference for Kumho tires is Daimler-Benz AG. The two companies have collaborated for over 11 years, and Kumho tires have been used for a wide range of Mercedes models, including the G-Class range. The collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and Kumho has now expanded to cover the latest variant of the highly popular G-class which is fitted with the Solus KL21 SUV tires in 265/60 R18 110H size from Kumho. Kumho is supplying these tires to the Magna Steyr plant in Graz, Austria.
Other OE fitments that Kumho bagged include those for the Volkswagen Polo and Skoda Fabia, as well as the factory fitment of the semi-slick Ecsta V720 for the Dodge Viper ACR.
Kumho’s Ecowing ES31 is the latest addition to Kumho’s range of environmentally-friendly tires and has proved to be a popular choice among motorists for whom low rolling resistance and extended tread life are important. The Ecowing ES31 is already available in sizes that can be used for most small and medium-sized hatchback models and has been recently expanded to 46 sizes.
Kumho has also expanded its range of Ecsta PS71 high performance tires, and it now includes 26 fitments suitable for the growing list of cars which sport 19 or 20-inch wheels.
