Schaeffler proved to be a hit with visitors to the Automechanika 2016 trade show that was held recently in Frankfurt. The company’s aftermarket business division participated in the show which was billed as the world’s leading trade fair for automotive spare parts under the slogan “discover more” . Schaeffler’s booth covers 1,200 m² and was used by the company to provide visitors with insights into its range of products for tractors, commercial vehicles and passenger cars, its repair services and service solutions. Innovative techniques such as virtual reality were used to present the company’s range effectively. The company also used the event as the platform to celebrate its 40th year in the Automotive Aftermarket with employees, customers and partners.
One of the major draws to the stand was a virtual reality journey that took visitors through Schaeffler’s core products, allowing them to experience these products first hand. Visitors had the opportunity to replace a dry double clutch using the LuK RepSet 2CT repair solution in a simulatd repair garage and even steer a miniature space ship through the innards of an engine to learn more about INAa’s expertise in engines. Schaeffler also launched the FAG SmartSET range which was developed exclusively for the Aftermarket at Automechanika 2016. All of the components of this ready-to-install repair solution for commercial vehicle wheel bearings could be experienced virtually as well.
The company focused on highlighting its service brand REPXPERT at the show. REPXPERT’s ability to provide added value for garages was demonstrated at six work benches, which were customized based on requests from visitors and demonstrated not only practical repair presentations, but also used about 50 exhibits to explain the company’s vast range of products, wile providing visitors with numerous tips on assembly and disassembly.
Michael Söding, President, Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket said that with mobility becoming increasingly complex, it was crucial for the company to present current and future areas of interest in a manner that was competent, informative and easily understood. Garages and distributors succeeded in learning more about how they could use Schaefflers’s products and solutions to increase business and serve customers better. He went on to express his elation at the positive feedback the booth got and the chance to interact with customers and partners through talks and meetings
