Faurecia, which is one of the largest automotive equipment suppliers in the world has opened a new technology center in Silicon Valley in the United States. The new facility will make it possible for the company to strengthen its relationships with some of the top universities in the world, automotive manufacturers, pathbreaking startups and new players in the mobility sector.
Faurecia says that it will step up its search for startups in the region and focus on developing a technology platform for its Smart Life on Board and Sustainable Mobility innovation ecosystems. The tech centre will serve as the base for one of the company’s Artifical Intelligence teams.
Speaking about the new facility, Patrick Koller, CEO, Faurecia said that the opening of the company’s new technology center will give Faurecia a unique opportunity to strengthen its position as the central link between all the players in the mobility sector. The area serves as the headquarters for a number of companies who are key stakeholders when it comes to Faurecia’s ecosystem. Having a tech center in Silicon Valley will make it possible for Faurecia to expedite its transformation and develop innovative solutions that can attract new customers.
The Faurecia Group has been active in the region for over five years and has forged strong ties with institutions like Stanford University and the world’s largest startup accelerator, Plug and Play.
