Lamborghini Launches Huracan Evo

Lamborghini has launched a new variant of the Huracan that it calls the Huracan Evo. While it is not a completely new model, it offers a more advanced take on the Huracan that lovers of the supercar model would appreciate.

The changes to the Huracan Evo include a few tweaks to the styling, like the use of a more aggressive bumper. This bumper attenuates the y-motifs seen in the model. The Evo has also borrowed the concept of two ridges along the bonnet from the Countach. Another new feature is the hexagonal air intakes on the side. The high-mounted twin-exhausts give the vehicle a more sporty appearance.

Lamborghini said that the changes can improve the performance of the car as the Evo’s downforce and aerodynamic efficiency have improved by over five times from the first generation Huracán. When it comes to the wheels, the Evo has a new 20 inch Aesir alloy wheel design. There is a new exterior paint color, the Arancio Xanto paint option. Buyers can opt to configure their Lamborghini Evo under the Ad Personam program which offers bespoke styling and trim options for buyers.

The interior too displays a few minor changes. These include the addition of a new 8.4 inch vertically stacked touchscreen infotainment screen. The main difference is the inclusion of an optional dual-camera telemetry system. Other touches with regard to the interiors are the new mix of Alcantara and leather trim, with matching body color accents. Customers can configure their car in the manner they prefer, choosing from a wide array of options, which include the use of carbon forged composites and Lamborghini’s patented Carbon Skin.

The Evo is powered by a 5.2 liter naturally aspirated V10 engine having the same specifications as the one used in the Huracan Performante. In the Evo, this engine gets titanium intake valves and a lightweight exhaust system. This engine produces 640PS and 600 Nm of toque, an increase of 28PS from the standard Huracan. The engine is paired with a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system. Other features which improve performance are the addition of rear-wheel steering function, and a new ECU called Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata (LDVI).

The Huracan Evo has a top speed of over 325 kmph. It can go from 0 to 100 kmph in 2.9 seconds and from 0-200 km/h in 9.0 seconds. It can slow down from 100 km/h to 0 in just 31.9 m.

Lamborghini expects deliveries of the 2019 Lamborghini Evo to commence between March and June.
