Yokohama Wins Platinum Supplier Award from Caterpillar

Yokohama Tire Corporation has announced that the company has received the top supplier award from Caterpillar, its platinum supplier award for the seventh consecutive year. The award is part of the Platinum Level Recertification in Caterpillar’s Supplier Quality Excellence Process (SQEP) and Yokohoma qualified for the award based on the technological excellence of its factory in Onomichi, Japan. Yokoma’s factory in Onomichi specializes in the production of original equipment and replacement off-the-road (OTR) tires for a wide range of equipment.

Caterpillar’s SQEP award recognizes top level suppliers like Yokohama who have demonstrated outstanding process control, shown a desire for ongoing continuous improvement and have provided quality products to Caterpillar.

Commenting on the award, Bruce Besancon, YTC vice-president of OTR sales said that it is quite a tribute for Yokohama to be recognized by Caterpillar for the seventh straight year. Caterpillar is a highly esteemed, world-class OEM and it is definitely a high honor for Yokohama to earn the company’s Platinum Level Recertification. The award attests to Yokohama’s continued global commitment to deliver best-in-class quality products and service.
