Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. has announced that the company’s tires will be factory fitted on the all-new Yaris, which will be known as the Vitz in the Japanese market. The model was launched on January 12. The new model which has been launched at the retail level in Japan, Australia and New Zealand, will have one of three YOKOHAMA tires—the “YOKOHAMA dB E70”in the tire size = 195/50R16 84V, the “BluEarth E70” in size 175/70R14 84S or the “S73” in size 165/70R14 81S.
The “YOKOHAMA dB E70” is an OE tire for which the main criterion in the design process was the quietness. It not only provides motorists with a very quiet ride, but is also a highly rigid tire that provides users with a comfortable and highly stable ride while making a significant difference when it comes to the fuel consumption of the vehicle.
The “BluEarth E70” and the “S73” tires share the same basic technology and design that is seen in the company’s “BluEarth” range. For the “BluEarth” tire, the main factors when it came to its design and development were that it should be “environmentally friendly and socially friendly”. The tires deliver a safe, comfortable ride while enhancing the vehicle’s fuel efficiency. Both the BluEarth E70 and S73 tires are outstanding summer tires for passenger cars.
Yokohama Rubber is focused increasingly on further development of its cutting-edge “BluEarth” tire technology, and many automotive manufacturers have selected tires from this range as their OE tires, especially when it comes to hybrid vehicles and other ecofriendly models.
