Yokohama Rubber has unveiled a new advertisement that depicts players from the famous Chelsea Football Club of the Barclays Premier League wearing the new Yokohama branded kit for the 2016–17 season. Yokohama Rubber has been one of the sponsors of the renowned football club from the 2015 season. With the tagline, “Aim High – Strive for success”, the new advertisement highlights the goal of all Yokohama Rubber Group companies and will be used on a global basis for all Yokohama Rubber-related Chelsea merchandise and promotions ranging from digital marketing campaigns to in store tools.
The new team shirt is in Chelsea’s classic blue color with white detailing and comes with a new side adidas three stripe execution and a classic V-neck collar with a fitted collar tape. The Chelsea lions of the club crest take pride of place on the sleeves and the front of the jersey while the Yokohama Tyres logo will be emblazoned across the chest of the jersey.
Established in 1905, Chelsea Football Club is one of the oldest and most established clubs in the English Premier League. The Club has won the Premier League title five times, the FA Cup seven times and won the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cups twice. Chelsea also won the UEFA Champions League in 2012, and the UEFA Europa League in 2013, making the club the only UK based club to win all the three major club competitions organized by UEFA.
Yokohama Rubber is a Tokyo based global tire and rubber manufacturer that was set up back in 1917. The company makes not only tires for passenger cars, SUVS and heavy vehicles, but also makes and sells a wide range of rubber products, like conveyor belts, automotive hoses and marine hoses. Yokohama Rubber has a manufacturing footprint of 14 tire plants spread across eight different countries across the world and a workforce of about 22,000 people. Its consolidated sales in fiscal year 2015 (ended December 31, 2015) totaled ¥629.9 billion.
The partnership with a famous club like Chelsea is part of Yokohama Rubber’s drive to raise global awareness about the YOKOHAMA TYRES brand in order to enhance global sales. Back in February 2015, Yokohama Rubber signed a five-year sponsorship deal with Chelsea FC and this is slated to end in 2020.
