The Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. announced that it will be launching its premium comfort tire, the ADVAN dB V552” which it calls the company’s most silent tire ever in Asian markets from this November. The “ADVAN dB V552” tire will initially be available in a total of 24 sizes, which can range from 265/35R18 97W XL to 155/65R14 75H and the company will gradually scale up the sizes that are available. . The “ADVAN dB V552” tyre is the successor to the “ADVAN dB” tyre that was launched in 2009 and was developed based on the premise that it should be an unprecedentedly silent tire that can change the in-car atmosphere by making the in-car experience calm and pleasant. Yokohama painstakingly designed the tyre from scratch to reduce tyre noise energy after reviewing all elements of the tyre design including its profile shape, pattern, internal structure, size and type of parts as well as its surface contact configuration.
Yokohama used a newly developed compound that enhances the dispersibility of the silica used in the tyre and this has increased the tyre’s wet grip performance and fuel efficiency.
The “ADVAN dB V552” size lineup will be expanded so that it can be used by a wide range of vehicles including compact cars, premium sedans, premium minivans, hybrids and electric vehicles.
Yokohama Rubber will be highlighting the “ADVAN dB V552”tyre at its booth at the 45th Tokyo Motor Show 2017, which is scheduled to be held from October 25 to November 5 at the Tokyo Big Sight.
