Michelin, one of the leading tire manufacturers in the world has announced that it is launching the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires in the markets belonging to the MENA region. The company developed the innovative new tire in collaboration with some of the leading automotive companies in the world and it is the most modern tire to join Michelin’s range of versatile, high-performance and safe tires for the discerning modern motorist. The tire will be available in the region through the company’s authorized distribution partners in Middle East and North Africa.
Commenting on the launch of the new tire, Pierre Granzotto, General Manager for Passenger Cars and Vice President for Michelin AIM (Africa, India & Middle East) said that the region plays a crucial role in the Michelin Group’s global growth story. Michelin is launching the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tire in the region within a short span of four months after its global debut. The tire has been designed to meet the needs and desires of owners of premium and sports vehicles who expect a lot from their tires when it comes to the fun and performance aspect of driving. The tire is being positioned as a true game-changer in the world of high-performance tires.
Granzotto added that the the technological innovations used in the ultra-responsive tread of the new tire are derived from the French tire manufacturer’s expertise in the world of motorsports, especially Formula E. The tread has been designed in such a manner that it continuously adapts to the road, due to the effective interactions between the tire design, tread pattern and the tire materials for optimal management of the contact patch.
The Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tire is ideal for the kind of highly responsive, precision control driving most motorists enjoy with its new “Dynamic Response” technology comprising a belt having hybrid aramid and nylon reinforcement for optimizing directional control. The belt has highly lightweight and tension-resistant high density fiber which is five times more resistant than steel lending the tire better control even in cases of , centrifugal force at high speeds and the tire contact patch too remains constant for safer and more responsive driving.
Safety and braking on dry and wet surfaces
The homogeneous tread compound includes silica and functional elastomers for high performance and better load distribution. Both the design and the tread compounds are geared towards providing motorists with outstanding grip in dry conditions on both straight stretches and while cornering, leading to excellent dry handling and braking. The wide and deep longitudinal grooves on the tire minimize hydroplaning and increase wet safety This tread compound also helps in improving the fuel efficiency and longevity of the tire.
Premium Touch technology
The sidewall markings of most MICHELIN Pilot Sport 4 sizes are designed using the ‘Premium Touch’ technology for a velvet effect, that highlights the letters and graphics.
Noise is kept to minimal levels while the handling is improved with the tire’s asymmetric design helps in superior handling and safety in addition to minimizing audible noise for silent performance. The strong casing of the tire reinforces the strength of the tire in order to make it a better performer in view of the tough weather and terrain conditions in the region.
MICHELIN Pilot Sport 4 size range
The new MICHELIN Pilot Sport 4 is currently available in 17 sizes, mainly in 17″ and 18″, in the Middle East and Africa. The portfolio will be expanded with more sizes at a later stage.
