Hankook Tyre Australia, the Korean tire manufacturer’s subsidiary in Australia has announced that it has extended its current partnership with NRL for one more year. Hankook will continue to retain its title of “Official tyre of NRL” in the year 2020. As an outcome of the extension of the partnership, Hankook plans to launch one of the biggest consumer promotions ever seen in the tire industry in the period from April to August 2020. Other benefits that Hankook will get from the extension of the partnership include Thursday Night In-goal virtual signage and on-ground LED signage at the State of Origin Series and during the rugby finals.
Ted Choi, Managing Director at Hankook Australia said that the tire manufacturer was happy to continue its association with NRL as it is one of the biggest sporting organizations in the country. He said that over the years, the partnership with NRL has helped Hankook to promote brand awareness. Hankook intends to align its strategy to target brand preference for 2020 onwards.
Choi added, “The NRL’s reach includes millions of people across Australia and throughout the world. I am pleased to say that the renewal substantiates our goal of placing Hankook at the top of mind in the tyre industry”
Marc Sibbald, Sales Director at Hankook also expressed his excitement about the 2020 season which started in March and Hankook’s long term involvement with the sport.
Sibbald said, “It’s great to continue Hankook’s association with the NRL for another year. We’re excited about the season ahead including Magic Round and State of Origin Game One in Adelaide. Each year the game gets bigger and 2020 will be a big year for Hankook’s NRL sponsorship because we have some exciting things planned. We want to link the NRL to every purchase of Hankook tires by a consumer. And we want to reward our retail partners for their support by giving them unique NRL experiences.”
Through the 2020 season, Hankook will appear in NRL Premiership series, all three State of Origin games and the Finals series.
