Goodyear has enhanced its digital presence with the launch of a new website for the online sale of tires for commercial trucks. Complete with the revamped SmartTech app to make operations smoother for commercial truck dealers and their customers, the site will definitely strengthen Goodyear’s presence in the market. The website provides fleet owners with the option to register and create customized online profiles in order to receive a personalized “Total Solution” of products, programs, dealer network and services tailored to their inpidual needs.
The new site is packed with information in order to help fleet owners choose the tires and retreads that are most suitable for their trucks. They can filter their search for tires by different parameters like SmartWay verification, vocation, application, name, technologies and size.
The new site was demonstrated to the company’s dealers at the Goodyear National Dealer Conference which was held at the Gaylord Resort and Conference Center in National Harbor on Jan. 28. According to Dustin Lancy, the Goodyear commercial brand marketing specialist who demonstrated the website to the dealers at the conference, the company developed the site with the purpose of providing a total solution to any fleet and getting the buyer to visit the nearest Goodyear dealer.
Truckers, technicians and fleet operators can use the updated SmartTech App to save time as it offers users the technology to take pictures in real time with a time stamp and also offers them easy access to Goodyear Fleet HQ via comments or a call button. Entering and retrieving data is a lot easier. The billing process is highly transparent with a feature to obtain the driver’s signature for proof of completed service, precise timing and mileage for billing. The app tracks all the steps in the process of a service call and ensures that the process is carried out meticulously.
According to Jose Martinez, Goodyear commercial, digital and solutions manager, the SmartTech App will be a highly useful tool to ensure that the right things are being done to the right truck and he confirmed that all Goodyear commercial customers will be required to begin using the SmartTech App by the end of March this year.
Goodyear Fleet HQ’s total “roll time” — the time between a trucker calls in a problem and the time he’s back on the road — has fallen to two hours, 11 minutes ever since the SmartTech app was first launched and once it is used by all truckers, the company this to drop even further to under two hours.
