Geneva Motor Show is a show in which all the participating automotive manufacturers try to create an impact with new launches and concept vehicles. Goodyear too has always created a buzz at the renowned show with its unusual tire concepts.
In 2014, the leading tire manufacturer showcased a concept tire for SUVs that had two distinct rings in order to increase the efficiency of tires. The different textured surfaces served to reduce hydroplaning and increase road grip.
In 2015, the tire manufacturer had unveiled its Eagle-360 degree tire, a spherical 3 D printed tire meant for autonomous vehicles.
This year too, the company has unveiled a teaser video for a tire that it is going to unveil at the 2017 edition of the Geneva Motor Show. In the 18 second video that has been uploaded on YouTube, the tire has a very unusual tread similar to that of a soccer ball. It also has a blue light that is quite puzzling. There was a time back in the1960s where the company had come up with shining, translucent tires made form synthetic rubber and then baked to 250 degrees in various colors. These tires could be based on a similar concept.
The 87th edition of the Geneva International Motor Show is scheduled to be held from March 9 to March 19. This is one of the most important events in the automotive world.
