Cooper Tire has won the Global 2016 Good Design Award for its Cooper Zeon RS3-G1 tire. The renowned Good Design awards are given jointly by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies to notable new products that manufactured in Asia, Africa, Europe, Africa and North and South America. The awards are determined on the basis of several criteria like their innovative design, utility, construction, concept, form, use of new technologies, energy efficiency and sensitivity to the environment.
Commenting on the award, Scott Jamieson, Cooper’s Director of Product Management for North America said that the Cooper Zeon RS3-G1 is a breakthrough tire in the ultra-high performance category. It comes with innovations for increasing the grip of the tire and is notable for its ability to hold the road at up to 1g in tight corners. He added that Cooper was honored to receive the Good Design Award.
The Zeon RS3-G1 tire has been getting rave reviews from customers for its ability to hold the road in wet or dry conditions. The tire is positioned as an exciting new all-season passenger car tire for high performance vehicles and drivers.
In addition to a sleek race-inspired sidewall, the tire has a number of innovative technical and design featured meant to increase its grip, stability and durability. It is truly an all-season tire with performance worthy of the high performance tire category. It has more rubber on the outside shoulder, as well as an intermediate rib to increase grip, provide stability during cornering maneuvers and to reduce tire noise. The Cooper Zeon RS3-G1 also has longer-lasting biting edges due to its 3D full-depth sipes, which extend deep into the tread elements. The sipes help the tire tread blocks to maintain a stable shape during acceleration, braking and cornering. The full-depth aspect of the sipes means that even when the tire is half-worn, there are still sipes to provide biting edges for consistent performance.
