Cooper Tire Europe has expanded its presence in sports with the announcement of two new maor partnerships. When it comes to motorsports, the FIA World Motor Sport Council has chosen Cooper as its Official Tire Supplier and Associate Partner for the FIA World Rallycross Championship. Cooper will also be the official tire partner of German Bundesliga football team 1. FSV Mainz 05.
Cooper Tire already has a considerable range of sports partnerships. The company’s has a longstanding partnership with the renowned English football club, Arsenal as its official partner and was the sole tire supplier the US-based Indy Lights race series, which is approved by INDYCAR. Cooper was the also the official tire sponsor of the Dubai International Motor Show 2015.The two new partnerships that have been announced will further strengthen the tire manufacturer’s presence in the world of sports.
Cooper’s contract with the new FIA World Rallycross Championship will begin in 2017 and will run for three years. The FIA Off-Road Commission recommended Cooper to the World Motor Sport Council based on the company’s technical expertise and familiarity with rallycross tyre requirements as it has also supplied tires to European Rallycross Champions for the past two decades.
Cooper has an extensive range of 4×4 tires and the company’s range of rallycross tires offers outstanding levels of grip and traction on both tarmac and gravel, allowing racers to perform at their best. In rallycross racing, competitors need a tire that can handle rough and smooth surfaces with equal ease as they need to tackle surfaces ranging from smooth highways made of tarmac to gravel.
Cooper’s three-year deal with 1. FSV Mainz 05 began with the Bundesliga club’s first home game in the 2016/2017 season. As part of the partnership, the Cooper logo will be highly visible to both the spectators of the live match and a wider TV audience across Germany through extensive broadcast coverage. Cooper will also benefit from branding rights on the club’s LED advertising boards at their home ground, the OPEL ARENA, which is a multi-purpose stadium located in Mainz, Rhineland-Palatinate.
