Tiger Woods has earned a place in sporting history as one of the greatest golfing greats. Bridgestone makes not only tires but other products like chemical and industrial products, bicycles, and sporting goods. In order to focus attention on its sporting goods, the tire maker has signed a multi-year partnership with Tiger Woods. Woods will now exclusively play with and promote Bridgestone golf balls.
Woods career included a record run of 683 weeks as the top golfer in the world. He won 14 major championships and 79 PGA Tour events. Woods said that when compared to other golf balls, the Bridgestone Tour B330-S ball provided superior distance and accuracy off the tee for him, and helped him to place optimal spin on shots into and around the green.
Speaking at the signing ceremony Woods said that using the right golf ball is extremely important when it comes to performance. The choice of the ball has an impact on the launch and trajectory of the ball. He said that the Bridgestone B330-S ball gave him a feeling of total control to hit all shots accurately. When he plays in a tournament his goal is not just to play but to win and he felt that the innovative breakthroughs made in the case of the Bridgestone B330-S ball can help me to become a winner.
Commenting on the sponsorship agreement, Angel Ilagan, president and chief executive officer of Bridgestone Golf said that Tiger Woods is known to spend a long time perfecting his equipment, and his choice of Bridgestone balls clearly conveys the message that Bridgestone’s golf balls are superior to all others.
As part of the sponsorship deal, Woods will be featured prominently in global digital, social, print and broadcast marketing campaigns as a Bridgestone Golf ambassador. He will also be supporting Bridgestone’s popular Bridgestone ball-fitting program, which is meant to increase the enjoyment of all golf players and can stimulate a new generation of golfers. As each golfer’s game and swing is unique, the ball-fitting program will match each individual with the ball that is best for his game, thus helping him to increase the enjoyment factor.
