Bridgestone Middle East and Africa has announced that it is launching its new tire, ECOPIA150 in collaboration with its local distributors in the region. The tire has been designed to suit customers needs better and adheres to the company’s renowned safety norms.
Speaking about the new tire, Mete Ekin, Regional Managing Director, Bridgestone Middle East and Africa FZE said that safety is a business value at Bridgestone and every tire is put first through all stages of the tire lifecycle, right from creation to purchase and use.
Bridgestone conducted a survey which revealed that for customers in the region, ‘safety’ and ‘wear life’ were high on their list of performance requirements. Bridgestone is able to come up with products that meet and exceed these needs through its focus on technology and innovation and its commitment to serve customers with products of superior quality.
Ekin added that Bridgestone considers safety, comfort, and being environmentally friendly as the three core elements when it comes to tire design. Based on this philosopy, the ECOPIA range of tires uses pathbreaking compounds and innovative technology in tread design to reduce the rolling resistance. This has a direct effect on fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. When compared to its predecessor, the ECOPIA EP150 has a 23.2% better rolling resistance coefficient. Thus, when compared to its predecessor, the tire delivers greater fuel efficiency, superior wear life and improved braking performance.
The ECOPIA EP150 series is used by many leading automotive companies as original equipment on their models and will now be available in the replacement tire segment due to increased demand. The tire is specially designed for small to mid-size passenger cars, and will be available in 21 sizes, ranging from 13″ to 16″ rim diameters. It will be available at the retail level at all authorized Bridgestone outlets.
The launch of ECOPIA EP150 is closely linked with Bridgestone’s “Hands Campaign”, a corporate social responsibility initiative that emphasizes the importance of quality tyres by spreading awareness about tire and road safety among motorists.
