Reybestos has announced that the company will now be using rust prevention technology for its range of plated brake calipers. Use of the rust prevention technology will increase the service life of the brake calipers and give them a higher level of protection against the effects of Mother Nature, according to the announcement made by the company.
Reybestos says that the brake calipers are remanufactured but are of premium OE level quality and work and fit like OE quality brake calipers. The company has used a proprietary zinc electroplating process in order to inhibit the formation of rust and provide the brake calipers with all-weather protection against the elements.
Kristin Grons, marketing manager at Brake Parts Inc., further added that the calipers are friction ready and have been specifically designed and engineered to offer motorists safe, leak-free operation. As part of the manufacturing process, they undergo strict testing criteria in order to guarantee that the calipers would provide customers with trouble-free installation and optimal performance even in demanding driving conditions like rain, salt and snow.
According to the company’s news release, the calipers are made from recovered component that are thoroughly cleaned, checked for wear and straightness and then go through the electroplating process for rust protection. The remanufacturing process is rigorous in order to ensure that they not only meet or exceed OE standards, but also to confirm that they also adhere to global industry norms like the QC/T 592-2013, SAE J1603, ASTM B117 and JASO C448. The seals, boots, bleeder screws and O-rings are replaced with new materials.
