MEYLE AG has been awarded the International Preferred ATR Supplier (IPAS) status. The IPAS status is given by ATR international trade cooperation when certain independent aftermarket vendors fulfill strict criteria to become preferred suppliers. In order to be able to offer consistent part and service quality on the international automotive aftermarket, ATR is bundling its product portfolio. This is part of a system in which vendors are bundled in the 55 markets the company operates in. MEYLE was designated an IPAS vendor due to the company’s engineering expertise and comprehensive range of steering and suspension parts. Due to this IPAS status, ATR customers can now source top-grade MEYLE ORIGINAL parts, have access to a wide range of services and take advantage of the extended four-year guarantee given for all MEYLE HD parts.
Wolfgang Menges, General Manager Coordination Purchasing at ATR International AG spoke at length about the motivation behind the IPAS program. He said that automotive spares have become increasingly complex and this is why it was necessary to develop a network of high-performance vendors in order to offer ATR’s partners value-added products and services. The company signs IPAS framework agreements with suppliers who fulfill certain criteria like the ability to meet its stringent quality standards, feature a product range that can cater for all popular vehicle applications in global markets and offer solutions that can meet the growing demand in information and training. Meyle proved to be a partner and manufacturing specialist who met all these requirements and hence merited IPAS status.
André Sobottka, Board member in charge of Sales, Marketing and Communications at MEYLE AG said that true to its tagline, “DRIVER’s BEST FRIEND”, the Meyle brand is known for a high level of expertise, quality and service. The company ensures that Meyle products offer the highest quality for both repair shops and consumers through a highly expert team of engineers who oversee all the processes associated with the manufacture of steering and suspension parts right from the design and production stage to the production of the finished goods. Through IPAS, the company will have a network of strong partners who share the brand’s commitment to quality and will help in its effort to make vehicles all over the world perform longer and more reliably.
Meyle’s production process is certified to ISO/TS 16949 standards, thus making its products have quality equivalent to OE. The company invests heavily in research and development, with the annual R&D spend accounting for up to five percent of sales revenue. This strategy has paid rich dividends, with Meyle emerging as one of the top companies in the automotive aftermarket and coming to the notice of OE manufacturers. From January 2016, MEYLE has been closely collaborating with Morgan Motor Company, and has been supplying Morgan with MEYLE ORIGINAL steering and suspension parts.
