Kia has launched a brand-new ad that hints at several innovative technologies in its new models. The ad is based on the story of Peter Pan and features a Peter Pan having a faceoff with the tyrannical Hook in the Neverland of 2030, as he refuses to let regular people get access to really innovative automotive technologies. The good guys end up winning after being helped by a Kia concept car featuring some of the innovations the Korean car maker’s research team is working on.
These include features like a smart biometric access system which relies on factors like your walking patterns and walking patterns and facial profile to recognize the driver. The access system not only unlocks the car, but also provides customized services like adjustment of the seat position. It also enhances the security of the vehicle.
The AI-powered intelligent voice assistant which is like a smart PA is another feature the research team is working on. The Intelligent Agent can understand the driver’s voice commands and respond accordingly. It offers advice on the kind of drive mode to be used and the external weather and can automatically switch to auto pilot mode when it senses the driver needs a break.
The Sound Focusing Technology is engineered specifically for electric cars as they hardly make any sound and it helps add noise to the car so that pedestrians become aware of the approach of an electric car. photos
The Smart Pixel Light Technology will allow cars to project messages to other drivers (like “Your lights are on!”) or pedestrians (“Watch out!”) by projecting words on the road in front of the car and there will be no need to resort to gestures or flashing of lights.
Another innovation involves charging vehicles while they are in motion with wireless charging and a built-in smart healthcare system which can test your heart rate amongst many other things. The system uses soft radar, which is not harmful to the human body, to check vital signs. In the event that any health issues are identified, it will advise the driver to rest or automatically park the car in a safe place and call the emergency services.
Smart window displays will allow passengers to enjoy visual entertainment like concerts or movies on the surrounding glass and windscreen. There will be no more need for smartphones or tablets for information or entertainment. The ‘Peter Returns’ as makes it very clear that Kia is truly very keen on the development of innovative and Kia is investing and focusing as much as or even more than the leading automotive manufacturers in the world on innovative automotive technologies.
