Infiniti will have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard for the infotainment units in its 2020 models. They will have a new generation of the Infiniti InTouch infotainment system and all models will now have both these features. There will be no need for Infiniti buyers to resort to special trims or pay extra for options to get access to these features.
Every Infiniti vehicle will now have Apple Car Play and Android Auto so that users can continue to mirror their smartphones while on the move, all thanks to a new Bluetooth module and processor in the new system. For those who are willing to pay a little extra, a Wi-Fi hotspot feature is also available. The hotspot will have the capability to support up to seven devices, with the car serving as the source of the data connection. Motorists will need to pay for a certain data package to use the Wi-Fi capability. The factory installed navigation system will also be offering more detailed maps with satellite, street and 3D views, by incorporating Google applications.
Over-the-air updates will be used for further updates to the infotainment system. When the car is parked and access to a wireless network is available, Infiniti will be able to push updates to vehicles as needed.
The new updated infotainment system will be available for on every Infiniti model on sale, except the QX60. The Q70 sedan will not be coming back for the 2020 model year.
