Huf North America Automotive, the North American subsidiary of a German tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) manufacturer, has announced the launched of its Intellisens universal sensors with expanded coverage.
Following the lead of the United States and EU markets, many countries are now making Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) mandatory in order to increase fuel efficiency, enhance passenger safety and decrease the number of accidents due to low air pressure in tires. In regions where TPMS is a new concept, workshops will find it a challenge to make TPMS repairs and replacements. There are as many as 180 different TPMS sensor part numbers and locating the right sensor for a vehicle or keeping so many components in stock can be difficult. Mechanics will also need extensive training to work with TPMS properly. This is where IntelliSens from Huf Automotive comes in. Positioned as the “smarter sensor”, the Intellisens sensor is configurable, not programmable. Information is already stored on Intellisensand all you need to do to make the sensor compatible with the vehicle is to activate the correct protocols. This helps to save time and effort as the entire set of protocols do no need to be programmed onto to blank sensor. It has only a few parts and offers the same level of quality as a Huf OE replacement sensor. The Intellisens sensor has a high degree of flexibility as it can be used in vehicles that are of different makes and models, thus giving expanded coverage. According to Huf, it is also one of the fastest sensors to program using any of the well known TPMS programming tools, thus helping customers to save their valuable time.
“The Intellisens universal sensors are a premium product at a reasonable price,” said John Stratton, aftermarket director for Huf North America Automotive Parts Manufacturing Corp. “Along with this product, we also provide an online product finder, which makes it simple to check on coverage and an exceptional technical support line especially for those still new to TPMS.”
