In an attempt to further advance towards leading the connected car ecosystem, HARMAN is streamlining the introduction and debut of vehicle-centric services from automotive manufacturers. This announcement comes two months after the company launched its Service Delivery Platform.
At the currently held Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, HARMAN announced 10 new workflow, data and content service providers for its Open Service Delivery Platform for the connected car. These providers include NPR, Wcities, AccuRadio, Deezer, CustomWeather, INRIX, Yelp, AccuWeather, Parkopedia, and TomTom. They offer automakers and drivers with a wide array of accurate, context-based and pertinent services—including location-based and real-time traffic services, parking, streaming audio, shopping, and live news—which will be available to carmakers for their connected car configurations.
In a statement, HARMAN Connected Services, president, Sanjay Dhawan, said that automotive manufacturers now have the ability to offer drivers and passengers with the distinct and pertinent services that would enhance the in-car experiences while continuing to focus on enhancing driver safety, infotainment and convenience. “We’re working closely with the top partners in the industry to bring together these services to automakers and drive innovation for drivers and passengers.”
The Service Provider Program is a global initiative available to workflow, data, content and service providers who aim to bring their services to automotive manufacturers, vehicles, motorists and passenger faster, while focusing on near-term opportunities in the automotive industry.
By utilizing the industry’s leading enterprise cloud services platform, automotive manufacturers can deploy various services including navigation and infotainment, vehicle data to foretell part failures, new software features after vehicle sale, warranty claims analysis, and forecasting for preventative maintenance.
The HARMAN Service Delivery Platform is a highly powerful, complete foundation with a suite of core services, third party services and management features, fully incorporated with vehicle systems and updated seamlessly over the air.
