Reports say that HARMAN International has recently joined hands with the Intelligent Car Coalition, a premier advocacy group for innovation in the connected car policy.
In joining the group, the leading connected technologies company for automotive, enterprise and consumer markets, continues its collaboration with companies and trade associations in the automotive and communication industries to support understanding of how connected car technologies affect regulatory and federal legislative initiatives.
HARMAN, like the members of the Coalition including Verizon, MEMA, Global Automakers, CTIA, the Auto Alliance and AT&T, aims to advocate on public policy issues crucial to the advancement of connected cars. These issues include innovation policy, autonomous vehicle technology, cybersecurity, data privacy, driver attention and more, as the automotive industry is further transformed by innovation and technology.
In a statement, Intelligent Car Coalition, executive director, Catherine McCullough, said that HARMAN’s solutions are crucial components within connected cars as well as powering the connected car ecosystem, and they are pleased that they would share their unrivalled perspective to further conversations in Washington that determine how fast and how far these beneficial technologies advance.
Meanwhile, HARMAN Corporate Affairs and Communications, vice president, Paula Davis, noted that HARMAN leads the industry as an end-to-end system integrator for automotive manufacturers and technology suppliers, with over 25 million automobiles on the road equipped with HARMAN technologies. She added that HARMAN is committed to developing products and solutions that enhance security, safety and connectivity in vehicles. “Joining the Intelligent Car Coalition allows us to further connected car policies through collaboration with industry and public sector partners to protect automotive customers and the driving public.”
