Faurecia’s Seating Business Group has renewed its partnership with Lectra, which is the global leader when it comes to integrated technology solutions for industries which use technical textiles, composite materials, leather and fabrics. The cutting process involved in the production of seat covers, headrests and interiors plays a key role in the activity of Faurecia’s Seating division. Faurecia Seating specializes in the supply of complete seats, frames, mechanisms and trim covers to some of the leading automotive manufacturers in the world and the manufacturing processes of these carmakers are gradually evolving toward Industry 4.0.
Faurecia Seating’s goal is to use the latest manufacturing technologies and thus reinforce its oeprations in order to double the production of its existing manufacturing facilities. Through the company’s strategic partnership with Lectra, it will be able to implement operational excellence initiatives across its automotive seating division.
Faurecia currently has over 60 Vector fabric cutting solutions in production across its factories worldwide Standardization of the Vector fabric-cutting solution-endowed by adding preventive and predictive maintenance capabilities and thus using the highest-performance cutting system which is available will reinforce Faurecia’s fabric cutting facilities.
Commenting on the renewal of the partnership, Hagen Wiesner, Executive Vice President, Faurecia Seating said that the company is constantly facing major challenges when it comes to reducing costs while increasing productivity, flexibility and agility.
Weisner added, “Our cutting processes have become strategic in reaching these goals.
