DEI has launched a new range of products called the EXO Series Sleeving. Like DEI’s popular Fire Sleeve, the products belonging to the EXO range are made from high temperature braided glass material which is woven into a sleeve and heavily coated with 100 per cent silicone rubber. One differentiating factor is that the EXO series products have an added layer of protection against extreme heat. They have a stainless steel exoskeleton exterior mesh. Thus, wires, lines and hoses belonging to this range are more suitable for use in extreme conditions like those associated with a racing environment. They are ideal for use in offroad cars, for extreme sports and on dirt tracks.
The EXO Sleeve can tolerate direct, sustained heat at temperatures as high as 500°F or 2000°F intermittent heat. It can be used as a thermal insulator for wiring, hoses and oil, brake and transmission lines in vehicles. This sleeve is encapsulated with a stainless steel mesh and due to its structure, facilitates free flow of air around the silicone sleeve when in direct contact with a hot surface. This makes the sleeve perfect for use around hot exhaust systems and headers.
The EXO series sleeving products are sold with two feet of DEI Quick Fix Tape to seal the ends. The sleeves are available in two diameters: 3/8” I.D x 3ft (part #010872), or 1” I.D. x 3ft (part #010873).
