Car Bow Store has debuted a new range of car bows which use a giant suction cup for staying attached to the hoods of vehicles. The new product has been introduced in line with the trend of a more and more automotive manufactures switching from steel to the use of aluminum components in their vehicles. They use aluminum for many components including the body panels and the hoods in order to make the vehicles lighter and more fuel efficient.
This new trend is making conventional magnetic car bows obsolete. Michael Rudolph, president of Car Bow Store said that it makes more sense to use the suction cup as it is equally effective for hoods made of all materials including fiberglass, steel and aluminum. It is also more scratch-resistant and softer than a magnetic base.
The company will now be offering 22″ Car Bows and 30″ Car Bows with the option of a scratch-resistant magnetic base or giant suction cup. According to Rudolph suction cup car bows are particularly popular with high-end car dealers in cases where the cars are made of aluminum and dealers are highly concerned about avoiding damage to their vehicles.
Companies like Ford have been using aluminum components in a bid to reduce the weight of the vehicles right from the 1990s. One example is the 2015 Ford F-150 which has a body that is made fully from aluminum and thus reduced the weight of the truck by 700 pounds. Though many manufacturers might not switch to a fully aluminum body due to cost considerations, they would use aluminum strategically to reduce weight and the hood is one of the likeliest places to substitute steel with aluminum. Rudolph said, “We are excited to be the innovative leader in the car bow industry and believe that suction cups will be the new standard for car bows in the future.”
