Arabian Automobiles, the exclusive dealer for INFINITI in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, is showcasing the new QX50 with its array of world-first technologies.
Some of the most interesting world-first technologies that have been developed specifically for this model include its variable compression engine, which is billed as one of the most advanced internal combustion engines ever made. It tackles the challenge of balancing the need for performance with environmental efficiency and fuel economy in a highly impressive manner. The model’s VC Turbo engine is the outcome of over 20 years of development and should set new benchmarks when it comes to reliability and functionality.
In the past 20 years, INFINITI has made and tested over 100 engine prototypes and spent more than 30,000 hours on the test-bed. This is equivalent to 5 million kilometers of on-road testing. The engine delivering outstanding torque without the weight of an electric powertrain (batteries). It offers motorists the efficiency of a diesel engine without the emissions, and is notable for its compact design, thus facilitating larger interiors and a smaller footprint. It is definitely an attractive alternative to diesel and offers the combination of impressive performance, lower fuel costs and significantly lower environmental emissions.
The other impressive feature of the engine is the Active Torque Rod of the QX50. It is the world’s first active engine mount vibration damping system, and can nullify the effect of engine noise and vibration during acceleration. The rod is placed on the upper engine mount, and it uses counter-balancing vibrations to isolate and dampens engine harshness and noise, thus making the drive more comfortable.
The Infiniti QX50 is now available at all Arabian Automobile showrooms and motorists can book a test drive to get a first hand experience of the new technologies.
