Lanxess will use the Tire Technology Expo which will be held from February 25 to 27 in Hanover to highlight the company’s versatile and sustainable solutions for tire manufacturing.
The company makes a wide range of environmentally friendly and specialty chemicals like its Rhenodiv release agents, Rhenomark tire marking paints, Rhenoshape tire vulcanization bladders, Rhenogran aramid-fibre masterbatches, and special additives.
Commenting on the company’s participation in the Tire Technology Expo, Emre Ekici, Head of Marketing Tire Products at Lanxess’s Rhein Chemie business unit, said that the importance of working closely with “solution providers” has greater significance in light of the environmental and market-related challenges that the tire industry is facing currently. The Rubber Additives range of Lanxess helps tire companies by enhancing tire performance and minimizing their environmental footprint with an extensive portfolio of compound additives, release agents and bladders.
Cleaner and more sustainable
The high-quality tires that are made today call for the use of tailored solutions in their production processes. In the case of low-noise or sealant tires, the removal of the release agents is essential as this would ensure that the polymers, foams or sensors that are applied subsequently will adhere properly. Sensors that have the capability to transmit data can help prevent damage and improve safety.
Rhein Chemie makes a diverse range of release agents. They range from conventional silicone-based products like Rhenodiv BP-286 and Rhenodiv BP-2864 which are removed after vulcanization from the tires with the aid of mechanical washing systems or by laser technology, to the advanced, silicone-free products like Rhenodiv BP-166 and Rhenodiv BP-9500.
The water-based bladder coating Rhenodiv BC-1700 provides a high-performance release on the bladder surface while curtailing the environmental effects and increasing work safety. With their superior lubricity and excellent transfer from green tire to the bladder, Rhenodiv SP-1010 and Rhenodiv SP-1020 make it possible for tire manufacturers to decrease the scrap rates and save resources.
With its broad range of dithiophosphates, special accelerators and fiber masterbatches, Rhein Chemie provides ideal solutions for nitrosamine-free and highly reinforced tire compounds.
