OMODA 7 SHS-H Brings New 5-kWh Hybrid Technology to UAE in 2027
OMODA & JAECOO has demonstrated its new 5-kWh hybrid technology in China, offering quieter driving, enhanced onboard power and new intelligent features ahead of the OMODA 7 SHS-H’s planned UAE launch in early 2027.
OMODA & JAECOO has showcased its latest hybrid technology during the OMODA Super Hybrid Marathon in China, which concluded on 22 October 2026. The event highlighted the capabilities of the new 5-kWh Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) system, featuring the OMODA 7 SHS-H.
Scheduled to arrive in the UAE in early 2027, the OMODA 7 SHS-H is among the first models to adopt this technology. During the demonstration, international media tested the vehicle across urban roads, highways and mountain routes to experience its performance, acceleration, smoothness and cabin refinement in different driving conditions.
The technology was also introduced during OMODA X NIGHT, part of the brands’ International User Summit in China. Shawn Xu, CEO of OMODA & JAECOO International, highlighted the system’s capabilities, describing it as the world’s only HEV technology offering a V2L function alongside multiple smart lifestyle modes.
5-kWh Battery Designed for Quieter Hybrid Driving
The larger 5-kWh battery allows the hybrid system to provide more sustained electric-motor assistance, supporting what OMODA calls its Super Quiet Mode. The system is designed to deliver smoother acceleration while reducing engine noise and vibration, particularly in stop-and-go city traffic.
OMODA & JAECOO also emphasizes cabin comfort during highway cruising, aiming to deliver an electric-vehicle-like driving experience across different speeds while retaining the convenience of a conventional hybrid that does not require external charging.
V2L Technology Adds More Everyday Functionality
Beyond driving performance, the OMODA 7 SHS-H introduces additional functionality through its Super Life concept, which includes four intelligent modes: Rest Mode, Sentry Mode, Refresh Mode and Appointment Mode.
These features are designed to support different everyday situations, from taking a break inside the vehicle to monitoring its surroundings while parked.
Another highlight is its Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, which provides up to 2.2 kW of in-cabin power output. This allows compatible devices such as laptops and portable coffee machines to be powered using the vehicle’s onboard electrical system, adding convenience during outdoor activities and parked stops.
Expanding OMODA & JAECOO’s Intelligent Technology
The new hybrid system is part of the brands’ wider technology development programme, which also includes Super Intelligent Valet Parking and AI-powered cockpit systems.
OMODA & JAECOO is also working with AiMOGA Robotics to explore intelligent technology applications beyond conventional vehicles, including service and companionship solutions.
OMODA 7 SHS-H UAE Launch Expected in Early 2027
The planned arrival of the OMODA 7 SHS-H in early 2027 will expand OMODA & JAECOO’s hybrid vehicle lineup in the UAE.
The brands have already strengthened their local hybrid offering with the launch of the O5 HEV in September 2026. Meanwhile, their cumulative vehicle sales in the UAE have exceeded 6,000 units, with the JAECOO J7 continuing to serve as their leading model in the market.
With its larger battery, quieter hybrid operation and onboard V2L functionality, the upcoming OMODA 7 SHS-H could bring a different approach to hybrid mobility for UAE motorists, particularly those looking for everyday efficiency combined with additional convenience on longer journeys.
The model is expected to arrive in UAE showrooms in early 2027, with further local specifications and launch details yet to be announced.
