Volkswagen has appointed a new Brand Director to drive regional growth in the Middle East. Andrew Savvas will be based at the German car manufacturer’s regional headquarters in Dubai and is tasked with overseeing the company’s Middle East operations as part of his new role. Savvas is a veteran of the automotive industry with 16 years experience and will be taking up this role after a stint as Volkswagen General Manager Sales and Network Development in Australia.
He has proved to be successful across a wide range of business disciplines and will take over from Thomas Milz, the current Managing Director for Volkswagen Middle East after he returns to Wolfsburg.
Speaking about his new appointment, Andrew Savvas, Brand Director Volkswagen Middle East, said that the Middle East is a region that offers new challenges and opportunities, with both consumers and business leaders here sharing a strong sense of purpose, energy and positivity. The industry here is currently facing a challenging shift. It is not possible to change the market but his priority will be focusing strongly on how the company treats its customers.
He went on to state that Milz would be leaving the Middle East operations in a strong position, as the company currently has a solid retail network across nine countries. He will build on this by focusing on Volkswagen’s customers, and strengthening the customer experience by ramping up service excellence, a strong and perse model range, affordable yet innovative technology and total transparency and care in the treatment of our customers.
“I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead – to make my mark on what is already a well-established brand in the region,” Savvas concludes.
