Using Uber will give shortly give you the new option of having your very own personal chauffeur in major Indian cities. If you are a visitor to a place and have many meetings or many places to see, it can quite a hassle to book a ride every time you move from one place to another.
As part of the UberHire service that Uber is planning to launch shortly, it would now be possible to rent a car and a driver for the entire day. The service will be rolled out in major Indian cities like new Mumbai, New Delhi, and Pune.
All Uber users in India have to do is swipe across to UberHire and choose the first part of the trip. There is a minimum fare of about USD 10 which is worth about 30 kilometers and then the passenger is charged a flat fee for every minute and kilometer above the minimum fare. The top limit is 12 hours.
Uber has not had a smooth ride in India. When it came to car rentals, it faced stiff competition from Indian company, Ola. Many consumers do not use credit cards and hence it had to implement a system of cash payments. Regulars made the company suspend surge pricing for rush hours. Based on consumer demands, the ride sharing firm has tweaked its services several times.
