Three Audi models won best in class awards in the “Best Cars 2016” poll that was conducted by the German magazine “auto motor und sport”. While the best small car title went to the Audi A1, the Audi A4 topped the “Midsize” category and the Audi Q7 emerged as the winner in the “Large SUVs” segment. Other Audi models which fared well in the poll were the Audi A3 and the Audi A6 which bagged second places in their respective categories.
This was the 40th year that “Auto motor und sport” conducted the “Best Cars” reader poll. Readers had a tough time choosing the cars they preferred from 364 models in eleven different categories. 115,239 readers participated in the poll and in each category, they selected the overall winner and the best imported model.
Commenting on the laurels Audi gained in the poll, Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, commented that he was delighted with the brand’s triple win. He said the company’s performance reflected Audi’s strong product range and will encourage the research and development team to scale greater heights.
Dr. Stefan Knirsch, Board Member for Technical Development added: “With the new Audi A4 and the new Audi Q7, we have taken an extensive array of state-of-the-art assistance systems into production. We will build on our model initiative this year with innovative technical solutions.”
