Tesla has lately been in the news for receiving about 400,000 for its new Model 3. While Tesla may exult over the rush to book the Tesla Model 3, but this has served to fuel an ad war waged by Nissan. Lightheartedly poking fun at the long wait customers have to face before they get their Tesla 3, Nissan has launched a new ad campaign for the all-electric Leaf that highlights its availability.
Those who have booked a Model 3 will need to wait at least till 2017 before they get their hands on one, while if you may need to wait even longer if you have not made a booking yet. Nissan’s ad with the tagline “no reservations necessary” focuses on the reasonable price tag and ready availability of the Leaf.
The Leaf has a starting price of USD $29,860 before incentives while the Model 3 will cost USD 35,000. Nissan’s incentives include a USD 4000 cash back offer.
The print version of the ad which says “why wait when you can drive an all-electric Leaf today? And why drop $1,000 to stand in line when you can get $4,000 cash back and best-in-class range?” has already started running across newspapers in the United States.
