Though many might dream about owning a Ferrari, it rarely comes true due to the price factor. Owning a collection of Ferraris is now no longer very difficult or pricey. British model maker Amalgam has come up with a special collection that includes every one of Ferrari’s 70th anniversary special edition models. These are beautifully made 1:18 models that are made to highly exacting standards and are perfect replicas of the original. For its 70th anniversary, Ferrari had made 70 special editions which included all of the brand’s famous models like the 488 GTB, 488 Spider, California T, F12 Berlinetta, and the GTC4 Lusso. There was a total of 350 Ferrari 70th Anniversary special editions and the Amalgam collection of limited-edition mini-Ferraris includes every one of them. Amalgam offers a choice of to options. Model collectors can either opt for models they like to be made in 1:8 scale or order a complete set of all 70 liveries which are mounted on a carbon fiber wall display.
The models are not exactly cheap as each unit costs USD 695. In view of the fact, that with each set you get a potted history of the Ferrari brand with models of cars ranging from the earliest Ferrari models to LaFerrari. Amalgam gets the CAD data for all the relatively new models from Ferrari thus ensuring that the models are accurate down to the smallest detail. For classic models, they scan the cars digitally and take about 1000 pictures of each car to learn more about specific details and finishes. The company takes around three months to develop a model of a new car and double that period for a classic car.
