Galadari Automobiles celebrated the history and culture of Sharjah with a ‘Sharjah in Our Hearts’ tour to mark Sharjah Heritage Day. During the drive, a convoy of Mazda cars made a trip covering the historic and cultural attractions of the emirate. The company also used the tour as an opportunity to highlight its focus on improving the environment and safe driving. The drive commemorated the inauguration of the new Mazda showroom in Al Qasba, Sharjah by Galadari Automobiles.
Stops on the tour included the Sharjah Museum (Al Hisn) which once housed the emirate’s ruling family, the Sharjah Discovery Centre, Sharjah Heritage Museum and Al Qasimia University. The tour ended at the new Mazda showroom which is located in Al Hind Tower.
The route taken during the tour served to highlight the past, present and the future of Sharjah as it transforms itself into a hub of business and tourism in the region.
The “Sharjah in our Hearts” initiative was supported by the Emirates Motor Sport Federation. Other partners included the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, Sharjah Museum Department, Sharjah Municipality, Sharjah Police, Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), Al Qasimai University and Sharjah Media Corporation.
According to Dr Rashed Salem, Chancellor of Al Qasimia University, the slogan “Sharjah in Our Hearts” was a really apt one as it reflected how the crucial role the city played in spreading goodness, science and culture all over the world. Al Qasimia University is one of the key player’s in Sharjah’s drive to serve humanity and promote happiness.”
Yousif Al-Mutawa, ‘Heart of Sharjah’ Manager said that as Sharjah seeks to become a major business centre and tourist destination, it is important for companies to recognize the emirate’s rich heritage and help it in retaining the unique character of the environment there.
