Ford Trucks F-MAX Officially Arrives in the UAE

Al Tayer Motors, the exclusive dealer for Ford Trucks in the UAE has officially launched the Ford F-Max truck in the UAE. The truck which has won the ‘2019 International Truck of the Year’ title is set to transform the heavy commercial vehicle segment in the UAE.

The F-MAX truck is named after Ford’s legendary F Series, and is a true winner in terms of its durability, size, and the level of comfort that it offers. It is on the basis of these attributes that the truck proved to be a winner at the prestigious International Truck of the Year awards, a competition in which the winners were chosen by judges drawn from 23 European countries.

Commenting on the launch of the truck, Ashok Khanna, Chief Executive Officer, Al Tayer Motors said that it marked the beginning of a new era in commercial transportation in the UAE. The truck will offer customers a reliable and comfortable option thanks to its class-leading features like its powerful engine, fuel efficiency, cabin comfort and the competitive cost of ownership.

In the UAE, the F-MAX will come with a two-year unlimited kilometer warranty and can be taken for service to either Al Tayer Motors in Dubai and the Northern Emirates or Premier Motors in Abu Dhabi. Based on their requirements, customers can choose from a wide range of service contract options.

Abdullah Bahattin Topçu, Managing Director Middle East & Africa, Ford Trucks said that the F-Max is poised to be a major player in the international transport industry with its 2.5-meter full-width cab and 500 PS engine power. He said that when compared to the current model, the truck offered significant reduction in fuel consumption. The design of the truck represents prestige and power and the truck offers superior aerodynamics, optimum calibration and technical specifications of powertrain and transmission. Other advantages that the truck offers are lower maintenance costs and longer maintenance intervals upto 60,000Km, thus reducing the total cost of ownership.

Topcu concluded, “This new tractor is the product of five years of research and development. After successfully completing five million kilometres of road tests in 11 countries on four continents, the F-MAX sets a new benchmark in the international transport industry.”

Comfort of home
In terms of comfort, the cab of the F-MAX is spacious with a width of 2.5 meters and sports a modern and driver-focused design. The cockpit-style dashboard has been designed with painstaking detail to ensure that all functions are within easy reach.

The F-MAX has a flat floor providing 2160mm of floor-to-ceiling height. It offers a wide range of storage options that are easily accessible, easy to use and easy to clean including airplane-style overbed storage, spacious overhead storage and exterior storage areas on both sides of the vehicle. The F-MAX also offers a 90-degree foldable upper bed, an inclined head frame on lower bed, comfortable and large bed mattresses, a remote control unit in the bed area, providing an ideal area for drivers to relax when taking a break.

The F-Max is one of the leading vehicles in its class in terms of accessibility thanks to its three-level door opening angle. It even has a fully sealed and water/dust-proof step cover to add to the comfort level.

Features like automatic climate control systems, powered interior lightning controls from the bed area and driver compartment and steering wheel adjustment features all add to the cabin comfort. Some variants even come with a mini fridge and coffee maker to enhance the comfort quotient.

The driver’s seat has been designed for maximum comfort when covering long distances, with its 260mm adjustment range, high-quality, breathable fabric and ergonomic design for optimal lumbar support.

The vehicle even has a braking feel that is similar to that of a car. It has best-in-class noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) and interior quietness thanks to its best-in-class torsional cab stiffness, lower engine noise and sound absorbing trim design.

Power & Efficiency
Low cost of ownership is one of the ley advantages that the new F-MAX offers. Production and product development combined with increasing vertical integration give Ford Trucks a competitive edge in terms of its cost base.

The new F-MAX offers a high performance engine with 500PS, 2500Nm torque and 400 kW braking power. Superior aerodynamics, powertrain calibration and technical features also ensure outstanding performance in terms of fuel consumption with a six per cent margin of improvement over previous models. Technical features include E- Auxiliary Power Unit (E-APU) technology, eco-roll function, predictive cruise control (Max Cruise). Up to seven per cent lower maintenance costs and long service intervals reduce the total cost of ownership. F-MAX’s Ecotorq engine offers maximum performance and minimum fuel consumption under any road conditions.

A 12-speed ZF automated transmission and different drive modes such as Eco-Mode and Power-Mode help optimize fuel consumption. The new F-MAX is also empowered by a variable-geometry turbocharger, a water pump and compressor with multiple working speeds, 400 kW engine brake power which achieves 1000 KW total braking power with the optional intarder.

Cutting-Edge Technology
The driver assist features that are available in the F-MAX include Adaptive Cruise Control, Predictive Cruise Control (Max Cruise) with speed tolerance choices, Advanced Emergency Brake System, Hill Launch Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Adjustable Speed Limiter Device and Electronic Stability Control.

The 8” TFT color wide cluster screen allows everything from tire pressure, temperature status to driver evaluation functions to be displayed on the same screen. There are control switches on the leather steering wheel which makes it possible for the driver to navigate between cluster screens. Truck-specific embedded navigation, web link and Apple CarPlay implementation, Bluetooth connection functions are presented within the 7.2” LCD multimedia soft touch screen.

The spectacular design of the truck’s headlight serves to see the road better and ensures that nothing escapes the driver’s line of vision. The other notable lighting features are the attractively designed maneuver-assist lighting and the LED daytime running lights.
