Last week, the BMW Group marked the global debut of the latest addition to the BMW 7 Series range with an exclusive event at the headquarters of BMW Classic, where BMW first made aircraft engines 100 years ago. The launch of the BMW Inpidual 7 Series THE NEXT 100 YEARS, was held in collaboration with Montblanc which worked with BMW to design a special BMW Centennial Fountain Pen. The BMW Centennial Edition will have a limited production run of only 100 cars and each owner of the model will get the BMW Centennial Fountain Pen.
Both the stars of the evening, the BMW Centennial Edition and the BMW Centennial Fountain Pen were unveiled dramatically in front of a mirrored mosaic to a select audience after speeches from Hildegard Wortmann, Head of Product Management Automobile und Aftersales, and Jérôme Lambert, CEO of Montblanc. An exquisite dance performance by the Spellbound Contemporary Ballet company added sparkle to the occasion.
Other highlights of the evening included a design presentation by Karim Habib, Head of Design BMW Automobiles, and Zaim Kamal, Creative Director at Montblanc in which the two experts shared their views on the latest trends in design. During a craftsmanship exhibition that was jointly organizzd by Maison Montblanc and BMW Inpidual, a BMW leather expert and a calligraphy master from Montblanc gave guests an exclusive insight into the meticulous detail that is involved making the hand-braided piping and the fine art of calligraphy. The audience members were able to identify the deep passion for supreme quality, handcrafted perfection and contemporary luxury that both companies share.
Montblanc initially collaborated with BMW in the autumn of 2015 with the highly popular “Montblanc for BMW” special collection, that included an exclusive collection of comprising fine leather articles and writing instruments which were inspired by the design of the new BMW 7 Series. Now, BMW and Montblanc have taken their partnership to the next level with the jointly-designed Montblanc for BMW Centennial Fountain Pen.
